Tsunami Update
@ Site News     Jan 04 2005 - 15:56 PST
greg writes: I've gotten calls and emails from lots of friends asking about the tsunami's that have devistated southeast asia. Thailand and Myanmar (Burma) just experienced the side effects of a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and resultant tsunami (tidal waves). Just to reassure everyone, Cherie arrived in Shanghai, China on the 23rd of December (which is far away from the devistation).

From Cherie: I was at an island south of Phuket (in Thailand) 3 days before the Tsunami hit. Luckily, I flew from Thailand to China on Dec 23rd. I feel very lucky to have my life, but I am devestated for those who lost their own lives, and the lives of friends and family. I feel lucky to be alive, but even more lucky to know that so many people care about me and sent me e-mails asking how I was.

I have some photos of Hannah and I in Phi Phi island, just a few days before the Tsunami hit. It's hard for me to look at those photos now, and then think of all the people who died. My thoughts really do go out to those affected by this terrible disaster.
