237--Myanmar (Burma): Family Reunion @ Site News     Sep 22 2004 - 17:58 PST cherie writes: My step-dad’s name is Maung Kyaw Myint. His American name is Eddy; I call him dad. Eddy was born and raised in Burma, a country now called Myanmar. An Olympic runner (100 meter-dash), Eddy defected and moved to the United States where he became a bartender. My mom was a waitress and they fell in love. Eddy and Bev were married when I was 5. We grew up together as a family in Fountain Valley, California with my sisters Michelle and Tonya. After 44-years of being away from Myanmar, Eddy returned last month with my sister Tonya and her son Tyler. The 9 brothers and sisters had not been in a room together for over 4 decades. The oldest sister is 78; the youngest brother is 55. Eddy (67) was greeted by 17 nieces and nephews he had never met. Here are the photos of Myanmar and my dad’s family reunion.
