At Paradise Marina, near Puerto Vallarta, life is comfy and sweet. There is a soothing candle-lit spa for those needing to escape, crashing waves for boogie-boarders and surfers, a trinket-stuffed mall for shopoholics, and water-slides for the kids. What more could you want from a 5-star hotel on the beach? There is even internet for computer junkies!! I spent two weeks at Paradise Marina aboard Cassiopeia, a Swan 65. Rennie and Anne (Captain and First Mate) thought they'd go to their graves without joining a yacht club. The next thing I knew they were signing the membership papers for the Vallarta Yacht Club. "I don't think I want to be a member of any club that would have me," joked Rennie. And what's better than joining a yacht club? Having friends who are members of a yacht club! The words sound strange coming out of my mouth: "I'll meet you at the yacht club for dinner." Am I growing up? It reminds me of when I was in Brazil and I ate a "California Burger" that consisted of a patty with fruit cocktail on top. What are they looking at? Bernadette cracks first. A local musican serenades us on the busride to the nearby town Sayulita. Kyle Fults, 13, wants to make a movie about his cruising adventures through Mexico. Cory, 10, loves to surf. Bernadette's ready to play in the waves! Colleen is all smiles. Greg's ready to battle the waves. It's nice when you can match your board. Surfers come in all sizes...even pint-sized. Kyle tearing it up. To his dismay, I made Kyle surf the smaller shore-break, so I could snap photos. Kyle and his sister Heidi. Greg and Bernadette wave from the comfort of their beach chairs.
