We had plenty of tacky snacks--Ding-Dongs, Twinkies, Cheese-Wiz, meat-balls, mini-pizzas and even Lime Jello! The tunes cranked, the tacky folks drank, and we partied until the newspaper hit the door the next morning! Kristi and Brian flew in from North Carolina with black and white mullets--they won the steak knives for “The Couple Who Traveled the Farthest.” Tom wore my zebra pants and won a bottle of cologne for “Most Macho.” Anne and Rennie took a years supply of temporary tattoos for being the “Tackiest Couple” and Katie was the only one who guessed “The Cheapest Wine” in a blind taste test. Jeanine got the Nike sunglasses for the “Tackiest Outfit” since she took the contest literally and covered herself in scotch tape. Debi won “Most Colorful” with green hair to match her outfit, and Chris won “Most Undergarments Showing”—but no one complained about seeing her bra all night. Shawn and Lori took home the “Happiest Tackiest Couple” award and Lisa won “Best Muff” since she wore an imported fur jock-strap (from Alaska!) Everything was perfect until the morning after. When I got up to brush my teeth, I realized one of my tacky guests beat me to the punch and had already used my toothbrush. That’s just plain gross. I had to chuck my toothbrush in the trash because I have nightmares that someone will mail me a Polaroid with my toothbrush in an orifice I don’t want to think about.
